Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Project Implementation and sustainability
- Oversee activity implementation as described in project proposal based on WVU country policy
- Take lead in project planning, budgeting, implementation and monitoring of progress in line with donor requirements.
- Responsible for financial cash flow planning and expenditure monitoring, approval of expenditures and related cost allocations, on the basis of approved project budgets.
- Human Resource Management (at individual- and team level) for all staff and volunteers under the Project.
- Supervision and periodical evaluation of the performance of the staff members of project Team.
- Maintaining effective coordination and working relations with donors and other relevant stakeholders at field level
- Proposed activities will be implemented according to schedule.
- Better living conditions for the affected persons as they will be able to meet most of their basic needs.
- Awareness created among different stakeholders on WV interventions in the area.
Implement Research Work within the Refugee Response
- Coordinate and manage multiple research and advisory assignments concurrently, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
- Support the development and strengthening of research partnerships, including engagement with implementing partners, academic institutions, and stakeholders.
- Lead and manage both internal and external research engagements, including overseeing selected studies with minimal supervision.
- Review and provide technical input into qualitative and quantitative data collection tools, ensuring contextual relevance, cultural appropriateness, and clarity for target populations.
- Oversee the contextualization, translation, and back-translation of data collection instruments in collaboration with Research Officers and MEAL Officers.
- Lead the programming, testing, and deployment of digital data collection tools (e.g., ODK), ensuring functionality, accuracy, and data integrity.
- Ensure adherence to research protocols, ethical standards, and data protection requirements throughout the research process.
- Supervise field data collection processes, including training enumerators and monitoring data quality in real time.

Community engagement and advocacy
- Take overall lead in the coordination of field level activities
- Mobilize and facilitate engagements of stakeholders during planning and development meetings, workshops and other fora.
- Ensure integration of project with other ongoing Research and education activities including that of World Vision and government.
- Strong cohesion among schools and community members.
- Strong integration between the project and other existing projects
- Stakeholders engagement, networking and collaboration
- Engagement with key stakeholders for influence, learning and resource development
- Actively represent WVU in key inter-agency fora.
- Engage and build relationships with key partners and government counterparts.
- Work with the Programs team to identify partners who will support the implementation of the project within the project area.
- Contact point with WVJ and IFPRI on the project
- Network and collaborate with District Local Government, OPM, UNHCR and other relevant stakeholders in the Project Area.
- Improved relationship between World Vision, the UN technical specialist and local government line departments.
- Documentation, reporting and knowledge management
- Prepare and submit high-quality quarterly progress reports, activity reports, and ad hoc reports as required, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with project objectives and donor requirements.
- Lead the consolidation of monthly and quarterly financial and narrative reports, including analysis of activity implementation against budget utilization, and provide actionable insights to inform adaptive management.
- Coordinate and contribute to semi-annual and annual project reviews, synthesizing performance data, key achievements, challenges, and lessons learned to guide strategic decision-making.
- Establish and manage a structured knowledge management system to capture, organize, and disseminate project data, learning, and evidence across teams and stakeholders.
- Lead the documentation and packaging of impact stories, case studies, best practices, and lessons learned, ensuring they are accessible and usable for internal learning, advocacy, and external communication.
- Facilitate regular learning and reflection sessions (e.g., after-action reviews, pause-and-reflect meetings) to promote continuous improvement and cross-team knowledge exchange.
- Promote knowledge sharing across projects and partners by developing briefs, learning products, and presentations tailored to different audiences.

Child Protection and Wellbeing
- Kampala City GuideMonitor the wellbeing and child abuse cases and report any incidents in line with child protection policy and guidelines.
- Work with local leaders to protect children from child violations and abuses
- Sensitize children including most vulnerable, guardians/parents and other stakeholders about children’s rights and responsibilities.
- Child protection integrated into livelihoods and environment interventions to ensure child safety and reduce/ eliminate child abuse and exploitation among all stakeholders.
