Job Description
The Rental Administration Assistant will be responsible for processing rental applications, managing communication between landlords and tenants, supporting the Gauteng Rentals Manager, and handling documentation and tribunal processes related to rental housing. The successful candidate will have experience in property administration, excellent telephone etiquette, and the ability to manage administrative workflows efficiently while ensuring compliance with internal policies and rental regulations.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Handle administrative tasks related to rental processes in the Gauteng region
Engage with the Gauteng Rental Housing Tribunal: lodge cases and represent the company
Process all incoming Gauteng rental applications
Submit applications for insurance approval and follow up daily
Provide updates to applicants regarding insurance approval status
Track and update lists for upcoming tenant move-in dates
Attend weekly marketing meetings and contribute relevant updates
Follow up on outstanding lease documents and pre-move-in payments
Upon insurance approval, send lease instructions to the portfolio manager, agent, and rentals manager
Assist in opening Red Rabbit maintenance/service tickets
Manage general tenant queries and maintain effective communication with landlords
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
Matric (Grade 12)
Experience & Skills:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar administrative role
Previous experience in property/rental administration
Experience working with the Gauteng Rental Housing Tribunal (advantageous)
Excellent administrative and organizational abilities
Strong attention to detail
Professional communication and telephone etiquette
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
