Job Description

The Relationship Manager will be responsible for onboarding new clients and ensuring they understand all necessary procedures, including payment timelines and dunning processes. They will maintain up-to-date contact records, monitor and follow up on queries, and act as a key communication link between Airtel and its corporate clients. The role includes making welcome calls, educating customers about services and systems, and following up on service delivery within defined SLAs. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with internal teams, provide feedback and reports, and play a role in promoting customer satisfaction and business retention.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Formally communicate onboarding processes to new clients, including payment options and timelines.

  • Alert clients ahead of dunning activities.

  • Maintain and update customer contact information.

  • Escalate and track client issues for timely resolution.

  • Provide updates on product and service developments.

  • Strengthen customer experience and drive retention through consistent client engagement.

  • Conduct welcome calls post service commissioning.

  • Educate clients on Airtel’s internal processes.

  • Share leads for potential business with the sales team.

  • Proactively communicate with clients during service interruptions.

  • Follow up with internal teams to ensure client SLAs are met in areas like billing and complaints.

  • Ensure timely resolution of client issues.

  • Prepare and present Management Information System (MIS) reports.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

  • A Degree in Business Management or a related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in customer service, preferably within the telecom industry.

  • Previous experience working in emerging/developing countries is an added advantage.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong business awareness and customer service acumen.

  • High personal standards and goal-oriented attitude.

  • Confident and professional telephone demeanor.

  • Ability to thrive in a performance-driven organization.

  • Demonstrated ethics, integrity, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
