Job Description
Job Title: Regional Business Manager - Mobile Money
Organisation: MTN Mobile Money Uganda Limited
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
Reports to: Head – Retail & Business Development
Responsible for driving growth and strategic acquisition of corporate clients across the FMCG value chain, SACCOs and eCommerce businesses within the assigned region. This involves spearheading API integrations to enable seamless digital connectivity with partners, managing a high-performing commercial team, and executing targeted BTL (Below The Line) marketing activities to strengthen B2B engagement.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Corporate Client Acquisition: Identify, target, and onboard corporate clients including key players in FMCG, SACCO networks, and e-commerce platforms.
Strategic Partnerships: Develop and nurture strong relationships with stakeholders across the value chain to unlock new growth opportunities and revenue streams.
Team Leadership: Build, manage, and coach a cross-functional team to ensure high productivity, clear performance KPIs, and consistent achievement of targets.
BTL Execution: Plan, organize, and supervise impactful BTL activities aimed at driving product visibility, lead generation, and partner engagement across the region.
Market Intelligence: Monitor regional market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activities to inform acquisition strategies and product development.
Operational Excellence: Ensure efficient operations, timely reporting, and compliance with corporate and regulatory policies in all regional activities.
Embed Route to Customer operating model (B2B and B2C) including the management of the 3rd party partners to ensure execution of agreed initiatives in line with Mission in the respective Region.
Creates key partnerships to ensures delivery of Joint Business Plans that drive achievement of the Region Mission
Drive a zero-harm agenda in the assigned Region.
Embed coaching as a way of execution to deliver set performance target.
Develop and implement sales strategy in line with Sales Strategic objectives to ensure achievement of MTN strategic objectives!
Main KPIs include:
Grow Unique Corporate Businesses- Offline and Online Payments.
Grow Revenue from corporate Businesses- Offline and Online Payments.
Retention of Existing corporate Businesses.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Business qualification
Experience:
At least 3-5 years experience in sales management in a fast-paced organization
Strong general management & including capability development and managing change
A proven track record in meeting revenue targets, preferably in a variety of situations to be able to draw upon a breadth of experience when making decisions and analysing plans
Leadership ability with strong general management skills, including strong intellectual, strategic, and analytical ability and the ability to work cross-functionally with a collaborative style.
People management, with the demonstrated ability to motivate and grow high performing teams. Mentor, coach and train the team and build the required competencies for success
Strong experience in building business relationships and negotiation
Are detail-oriented and seek to achieve excellence in everything you do.
Are a self-starter and proactive about achieving ambitious targets.
Enjoy owning projects – you’re autonomous yet know when to escalate problems.
Willing to go the distance to get something done.
Think about culture and process from the users’ perspective.
