Job Description
Based at Roo Bay Farm in Homa Bay County, the Refrigeration Technician will play a vital role in safeguarding Victory Farms’ cold chain logistics. Duties will include the installation and servicing of refrigeration systems, diagnosing mechanical issues, conducting routine maintenance, and responding promptly to emergencies. The technician will work across farm facilities and logistics centers to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to perform under pressure in diverse environments, including cold conditions.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Install and maintain refrigeration systems across Victory Farms facilities.
Diagnose refrigeration faults and perform necessary repairs using specialized equipment.
Conduct routine maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication of cold storage equipment and reefer trucks.
Inspect reefers, cold rooms, and fleet refrigeration systems to ensure compliance with operational standards.
Adjust equipment, replace faulty components, and ensure optimal performance of refrigeration systems.
Respond promptly to refrigeration emergencies at both farm and logistics sites.
Report damaged or faulty equipment and advise on upgrades or replacement solutions.
Ensure compliance with refrigeration safety standards and environmental regulations.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Diploma, certificate, or formal training in Refrigeration, HVAC, or a related technical field.
Experience:

Skills & Competencies:
Proficiency in refrigeration tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair techniques.
Strong knowledge of safety procedures, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
Problem-solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
Physically fit and capable of working in cold and diverse site conditions.
