Job Description
The Radiographer will be responsible for conducting radiological imaging for both general and private clients while ensuring adherence to professional standards and internal protocols. The role requires effective management of radiographic equipment, compliance with safety and radiation regulations, and close collaboration with medical and administrative staff to support operational efficiency within the unit.
The position also entails image processing in dark room settings, ensuring quality assurance in service delivery, and maintaining proper documentation and accountability of resources. The Radiographer will also contribute to improving diagnostic capabilities through accurate imaging interpretation and supportive teamwork.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Perform high-quality diagnostic radiological imaging services.
Ensure smooth daily operations of the radiography unit.
Manage and account for resources used in the unit.
Adhere to safety standards and radiological protocols.
Maintain proper documentation and image records.
Support image processing, including dark room operations.
Participate in multidisciplinary clinical team discussions and decision-making.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Requirements:
Diploma in Radiography/Medical Imaging from a recognized institution.
Valid registration and license with the Allied Health Professionals Council.
At least 2 years of hands-on experience in radiology or sonography.
Proficiency in dark room management and image processing.
Knowledge of imaging equipment, terminology, and relevant software.
Familiarity with HIV/AIDS care services.
Understanding of laws and guidelines governing radiation use.
