Job Description
The Quality & Safety Officer will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and monitoring the company’s occupational health, safety, and quality protocols. They will conduct training sessions, enforce adherence to safety laws and internal standards, and ensure proper documentation and reporting of incidents and corrective actions. The role also requires staying current on regulatory requirements and industry best practices to maintain high safety and quality standards across all operational sites.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Conduct training sessions for staff on occupational health, safety, and quality standards.
Perform site inspections to identify risks, hazards, and violations.
Recommend and follow through on corrective actions to mitigate risks.
Ensure compliance with local and international health and safety regulations.
Monitor daily operations and employee behavior for adherence to safety procedures.
Prepare safety reports, manuals, incident logs, and other documentation.
Keep up to date with changes in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) laws and practices.
Advise project teams on implementing safety programs and procedures.
Document and report safety statistics, incidents, and inspections.
Oversee orientation of new employees regarding safety and quality expectations.
Conduct quality verification checks on work outputs.
Execute other related duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Diploma or Degree in Environmental Studies, Engineering, or related field.
Certification in Occupational Health and Safety is required.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in safety and quality assurance.
Prior experience in a related industry is an added advantage.
Proficiency in conducting safety inspections and quality audits.
Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety laws and best practices.
Excellent communication, training, and reporting skills.
Must hold a valid driver’s license.
