Job Description
Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, the QC Officers – Chemical Handling will play a crucial role in chemical inventory management and support analytical operations. The officers will ensure all chemicals and reagents are safely received, labeled, stored, and dispensed following current Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), cGMP, and safety regulations. They will prepare standardized chemical solutions, monitor expiry dates, maintain accurate logs, and coordinate proper disposal of expired chemicals. The role requires strong knowledge of chemical safety, excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail. These officers will also participate in safety drills, risk assessments, and procurement planning to ensure the quality control lab operates efficiently and safely.

How to Apply
Receive, label, and store chemicals, solvents, and reagents in accordance with hazard classifications.
Maintain inventory records for all chemicals including batch numbers, expiry dates, and usage logs.
Prepare and standardize volumetric solutions for laboratory use.
Ensure compliance with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and enforce hazard communication protocols.
Monitor safety conditions of chemical storage areas and support proper segregation and disposal.
Conduct regular audits of chemical stocks and generate reports.
Enforce the use of PPE and adherence to chemical handling SOPs among lab staff.
Participate in safety training, chemical spill drills, and risk assessments.
Coordinate with procurement to avoid chemical stockouts and maintain continuous laboratory operation.
Academic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Laboratory Technology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.
Experience and Competencies:
2–4 years of practical experience in chemical handling, inventory management, or lab support in a pharmaceutical or QC setting.
Strong understanding of chemical classification, safety standards, GHS labeling, and incompatibility handling.
Familiarity with GLP, cGMP, and hazardous material handling guidelines.
Experience with inventory tracking systems and documentation.
High attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to safety.
Ability to work independently and uphold laboratory compliance standards.
