Job Description
The Project Manager will lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities in Rubavu and Rusizi, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with project objectives. The incumbent will build partnerships with fintechs, cooperatives, and local authorities to design and implement inclusive digital solutions, particularly for women and vulnerable groups. The role also requires supporting digital financial services tailored to SSCBTs, integrating tools into cooperative operations, and ensuring solutions are accessible and inclusive. The Project Manager will prepare progress reports, contribute to donor reporting, document lessons learned, and support knowledge-sharing across UNCDF. The position requires strong leadership, technical expertise in digital economies, and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Lead planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities to ensure timely delivery.
Coordinate stakeholder engagement, ensuring buy-in from cooperatives, local authorities, and partners.
Facilitate partnerships with fintechs to enhance digital financial services (DFS) for SSCBTs.
Support fintechs in designing and piloting inclusive, data-driven digital solutions.
Oversee integration of digital tools (e.g., record-keeping, mobile payments) into cooperative operations.
Ensure solutions are inclusive and accessible to women, youth, and persons with disabilities.
Prepare progress reports, case studies, and donor reports documenting results and lessons learned.
Contribute to annual monitoring and reporting aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF).
Represent UNCDF in stakeholder forums, meetings, and policy discussions.
Contribute to knowledge products and share programme outcomes with partners.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Business Administration, Economics, International Development, or related field (Master’s Degree preferred).
At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in project management, preferably in digital economies, financial inclusion, or development programmes.
Strong understanding of digital financial services, inclusive digital solutions, or MSME development.
Proven ability to manage multi-stakeholder projects with diverse partners, including governments, fintechs, and cooperatives.
Excellent communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
Demonstrated integrity, accountability, adaptability, and teamwork skills.
Fluency in English required; knowledge of French and Kinyarwanda is an advantage.
