Job Description
The Project Director will oversee all aspects of EpiC Uganda’s portfolio, including HIV and potentially other health areas. Responsibilities include ensuring delivery of project goals within budget and timeframe, managing technical and administrative staff, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring compliance with donor regulations. The Director will serve as the primary point of contact with the U.S. Government/Department of State and EpiC headquarters, lead annual workplan and budget development, and ensure reporting requirements are met.
Additionally, the Director will guide innovation, foster strategic partnerships, oversee M&E systems, and promote evidence-based practices. As a member of FHI 360 Uganda’s Senior Leadership Team, the Director will contribute to country program strategy and business planning. The role also requires creating a safe, inclusive, and compliant workplace while mentoring project staff.

How to Apply
Provide overall vision, planning, and implementation of EpiC Uganda activities.
Lead and supervise technical, management, and strategic information teams.
Oversee program and financial management, ensuring compliance with donor rules.
Ensure project targets are met on budget and on time.
Build and maintain strategic partnerships with government, donors, and civil society.
Guide technical and organizational capacity building of partners and staff.
Oversee M&E systems to ensure effective monitoring and reporting.
Represent EpiC Uganda in national, regional, and global platforms.
Coordinate with FHI 360 Uganda country office for operational support.
Promote innovation and cost-efficient approaches in service delivery.
Support proposal development and resource mobilization when needed.
Education
Master’s degree in Public Health or related field.
Project Management certification is an advantage.
Experience
Minimum 10 years of project management experience, including at least 5 years in line management.
Demonstrated experience managing large, complex, donor-funded health projects, including HIV service delivery.
Strong knowledge of PEPFAR-funded project management in Uganda.
Experience working with government institutions, donors, and implementing partners.
Proven ability in strategic planning, capacity building, and financial oversight.
Competencies
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to motivate and collaborate with diverse teams.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
Fluency in English (written and spoken).
