Job Description
Job Title: Project Assistant
Location: Amudat Area Program, Uganda
Organization: FH Association (formerly Food for the Hungry)
Contract Type: Full-Time National Staff (Open to Ugandan Nationals Only)
Reporting To: Program Area Manager
Recruitment Code: PA-825
Position Overview
The Project Assistant will coordinate, monitor, and support community-level Child Engagement (sponsorship) and program activities, ensuring alignment with performance targets. This role plays a vital part in program delivery, community mobilization, and capacity building at the grassroots level.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Plan, administer, and coordinate community-based sponsorship and program activities
Support program management, development, and monitoring
Assist in administrative and financial management
Facilitate capacity building and community development initiatives
Support resource mobilization and stakeholder engagement
Represent FH in community networks and advocacy forums
Document program processes and outcomes
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Degree in Education, Development Studies, Social Work, Social Administration, Agriculture, Nutrition, Community-Based Rehabilitation, Community Psychology, Adult and Community Education, or related field
Minimum 2 years of post-graduate experience in community development projects
Experience organizing and facilitating community groups
Strong interpersonal and human relations skills
Knowledge of participatory community development and capacity-building approaches
Familiarity with government policies and strategies
Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet
Experience with child-focused NGOs is an added advantage
