Position Summary

IMPACT is seeking a motivated and experienced Project and Partnership Support Officer (PPSO) to support the regional Projects and Partnerships Support Manager (PPSM), based in Kampala. The PPSO will contribute to grant management, fundraising, proposal development, donor engagement, and partnerships across East Africa.

This role is ideal for a proactive professional with strong communication and coordination skills, experience in humanitarian project development, and a keen eye for detail.

How to Apply

1. Fundraising & External Relations

  • Support the identification of regional and country-specific funding opportunities.

  • Track donor engagement, proposals, and funding prospects using internal tools (e.g., Funding Tracker).

  • Assist in developing regional and country-level partnerships with NGOs, academia, private sector, and think tanks.

  • Support collaboration and communication with ACTED on project development and grant-related matters.

2. Grant Management

  • Assist in proposal writing, including concept notes and logframes, in alignment with IMPACT’s strategic priorities.

  • Liaise with internal teams (Research, Finance, Operations) to ensure technical quality and compliance.

  • Support the review and negotiation of contracts and donor agreements.

  • Ensure proper documentation, data entry (e.g., Ninox database), and internal communication on deliverables and reporting obligations.

3. Reporting

  • Contribute to the drafting of high-quality narrative and M&E reports for donors.

  • Coordinate with program and finance teams to ensure consistency between narrative and financial reports.

  • Support partner engagement during reporting and compliance processes.

4. Partnerships

  • Assist with the due diligence and vetting of local and international partners.

  • Facilitate sub-grant agreement processes and ensure database updates.

  • Act as a liaison for day-to-day communications with implementing partners.

5. Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Ensure M&E frameworks are aligned with project proposals and donor requirements.

  • Support the integration of M&E findings into project development and reporting.

  • Monitor project performance and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders.

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Development Studies, Political Science, Economics, or related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project development or grants management in the humanitarian sector.

  • Solid understanding of donor requirements and humanitarian coordination mechanisms.

  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Office 365, and Adobe tools.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Fluency in English is required.
