The National Union of Disabled Persons of Uganda (NUDIPU) is an umbrella organization promoting the rights of Persons with disabilities in Uganda with the vision of having “A Just and Fair Society where Persons with Disabilities live a Prosperous and Dignified life”. We exist to advocate for the rights of Persons with Disabilities in a unified voice for improved livelihoods. NUDIPU seeks to recruit competent Ugandans to fill the following positions:
Economic empowerment through Isave model
Support Programme Planning and implementation
Develop periodic work plans for activity implementation.
Make appropriate arrangements and prepare logistics for meetings, trainings and other activities.
Collect and share relevant project information and data by the Programme/project M&E frameworks
Take the lead in the implementation of iSAVE inclusive economic empowerment program activities in the district.
Supervise and appraise district-based staff.
Closely monitor the programme and ensure quality control.
Network with other organizations in the field of economic empowerment in the district
Provide advice and training of the field promoters and focal persons on iSAVE modules according to agreed schedules and on-demand basis
Provide regular technical oversight of the district union.
Write develop and submit monthly and quarterly progress financial and MIS reports to the supervisor
Provide technical guidance, coaching and mentoring of staff and volunteers.
Gender & Social Inclusion programming/mainstreaming
Develop and roll out gender-sensitive approaches and guidelines that direct gender mainstreaming in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of NUDIPU programmes/projects.
Build the capacity of partners in gender and Disability mainstreaming in projects.
Provide Technical support to Gender integration in programme development designs, baselines, evaluations and assessments
Participate in strategy monitoring and reporting
Coordinate processes of research, documentation and regular sharing of best practices and innovations for learning and policy influencing at the local, national regional and international levels
Inclusive Sexual Reproductive Health Rights
To map and continuously update actors involved in the response to SRHR in the district.
Ensure the quality of SRHR activities implementation at the district.
Support team and partners at the district for implementation of disability inclusive SRHR activities.
Manage the programme’s implementation, follow up the budget and project planning.
Identify the capacity building needs of partners at the district levels on SRHR activities for disability inclusion.
Organise and facilitate training on SRHR and GBV prevention and response.
Collaborate with the programme team to set up a capacity building plan.
Participate in the development of external and internal communication strategy and tools.
Participate in the documentation and dissemination of results and lessons learnt regarding access to SRHR services by Persons with disabilities.
Contribute to the development and implementation of the advocacy strategy.
Ensure that SRHR data are collected, analyse, and reported to inform adaptation and learnings.
External engagements and collaboration
Build and nurture strategic partnerships, networks and coalitions with the District and private sector to lobby and influence gender and disability-responsive policies and programme implementation.
Participate in District gender networks and forums among others.
Document and publish evidence of the impact for Gender and disability mainstreaming in the district
Contribute to the development of fundable proposals on gender and disability mainstreaming
Establish and strengthen partnerships and collaboration for effective disability inclusion at all levels including strategies for programming and coordination
Strengthen the capacity of staff and partners in disability mainstreaming

Education
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies, Development Studies, Social Science, Community Based Rehabilitation, or any other related discipline.
A post graduate diploma in project planning and management or monitoring and evaluation is an added advantage.
Technical and interpersonal skills
Community development, Livelihood empowerment, Training and research skills, Administrative and coordination skills and motivational skills
Knowledge of disability issues.
Comfortable working in multi-cultural settings and the ability to work calmly under pressure.
Effective interpersonal skills to work with colleagues, partners, stakeholders
Industry Experience
At least 2 years’ experience in implementing livelihood interventions and community savings schemes, Gender mainstreaming mostly related to economic empowerment, Gender Based Violence Prevention and Response and Sexual Reproductive Health rights with a reputable organization.
Candidates should be able to stay and work in the districts selected.
Fluence of local language of a selected district is an added advantage.
