Founded in 1986 through a partnership between Japanese philanthropist Ryoichi Sasakawa, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, and Nobel Laureate Dr. Norman Borlaug, SAA has built a strong reputation across the continent for its science-based, farmer-centered approach to agricultural development.
