Job Description
Job Title: Program Coordinator
Location: Mbale and Northern Region, Uganda
Organization: FH Association (formerly Food for the Hungry)
Contract Type: Full-Time National Staff (Open to Ugandan Nationals Only)
Reporting To: Program Area Manager

Position Overview
The Program Coordinator will oversee the design, implementation, and monitoring of multi-sectoral programs within the assigned Area Program. This includes building community capacity, providing technical support, mentoring Development Facilitators, and ensuring all activities align with FH’s mission, Heartbeat, and mindset values. The role focuses on key areas such as Child Engagement, Productive Learning, Asset Creation, and Physical and Mental Wellbeing, serving vulnerable populations with dedication and strong leadership.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Lead program development and management across all sectors
Oversee financial management and budgeting for assigned programs
Coordinate with teams and stakeholders to ensure effective program delivery
Monitor, evaluate, and facilitate learning and reflection to improve program outcomes
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Agriculture, Development Studies, Public Health, or related field
Postgraduate diploma in Project Planning and Management is a plus
Minimum 3 years of program management experience in humanitarian or development settings, preferably with an NGO
Proven ability managing multi-sectoral programs including Child Engagement, Livelihoods, Education, and Health
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
Ability to work effectively in multicultural teams and environments
Proficient in project and financial management
Committed to FH’s Heartbeat values and mission
