Job Description
The Production Officer – Compression will oversee the tablet compression stage of oral solid dosage production, including operating rotary tablet press machines, adjusting production parameters, performing in-process checks, and maintaining accurate documentation. The officer is also tasked with ensuring equipment readiness, coordinating with quality assurance and maintenance teams, and supervising operators. This role is essential to achieving consistent product quality, regulatory compliance, and production targets.

How to Apply
Supervise the tablet compression process as per approved Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs) and SOPs.
Operate and monitor single and double rotary tablet compression machines.
Adjust compression parameters including tablet weight, hardness, thickness, and turret speed.
Conduct in-process quality checks for weight variation, hardness, friability, and appearance.
Ensure accurate and compliant documentation of batch activities, cleaning records, and deviations.
Coordinate with maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues and conduct preventive maintenance.
Oversee equipment cleaning, setup, and changeover in line with cGMP and contamination control standards.
Support validation, scale-up, and troubleshooting activities.
Supervise and train compression operators, ensuring adherence to safety and quality protocols.
Maintain high standards of hygiene, housekeeping, and operational discipline.

Academic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or Higher Diploma in Pharmacy, Industrial Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience and Competencies:
At least 3–4 years of experience in tablet compression operations within a GMP-compliant pharmaceutical facility.
Proficient in operating rotary compression machines and handling minor mechanical adjustments.
Knowledge of compression tooling (punches/dies), machine troubleshooting, and in-process quality control.
Strong understanding of cGMP, ALCOA+ data integrity principles, and documentation requirements.
Ability to supervise teams and coordinate interdepartmental activities.
Experience in scale-up and validation processes is an added advantage.
