Job Description
EXTERNAL ADVERTISEMENT FOR VACANT POSITIONS
In accordance with Section 2.5(c) of the UVTAB Human Resource Management Manual, which provides for recruitment through various methods, including external Advertisement, the Board seeks to strengthen its human resource capacity by filling existing vacancies.
Accordingly, Uganda Vocational and Technical Assessment Board (UVTAB) hereby invites applications from eligible person(s) to apply for the following vacant positions:
To provide technical guidance and support in the development, review and the implementation of the Curricula for the fields in Vocational and Technical Education as prescribed in the Uganda Qualification Framework.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Identifying need for review and development of policies related to curricula development and qualifications equivalence
- Providing technical guidance in the review and developing curricula for vocational and technical Education in line with national and international best practices.
- Conducting consultations with academic institutions, professional bodies, and stakeholders to align with national and international standards.
- Reviewing and evaluating qualifications obtained from international institutions to determine their equivalence to Uganda’s professional standards.
- Providing technical expertise in the development and implementation of guidelines for the recognition of foreign qualifications.
- Providing recommendations for the recognition or adjustment of qualifications in line with national policies.
- Providing technical support in conducting research to understand emerging trends in Technical Education curricula and educational standards
- Conducting training and capacity-building for educational institutions, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders on changes in curricula.
- Providing guidance and mentorship to other officers and staff involved in curriculum development.
- Providing technical support in the development and implementation of systems for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of curricula.
- Assessing the impact of curriculum changes on the competency of TVET trainers.
