Job Description
The Operators – Ointment/Semi-Solid Preparations will manage the production processes of semi-solid dosage forms by handling raw materials, operating mixing and homogenizing equipment, conducting in-process quality checks, and documenting manufacturing activities as per approved Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The role ensures consistent product quality and cleanliness of equipment and production areas. The ideal candidates will demonstrate strong knowledge of pharmaceutical or cosmetic manufacturing operations and adhere to hygiene and safety protocols.

How to Apply
Operate mixers, homogenizers, and vacuum systems for ointment, cream, and gel manufacturing.
Accurately weigh and load raw materials per Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs).
Monitor and control process parameters including temperature and mixing speed.
Conduct in-process quality checks (e.g., pH, viscosity, appearance).
Transfer finished product to storage vessels or filling areas hygienically.
Perform cleaning and sanitization of equipment and production areas.
Record operations, cleaning, and observations in batch records/logbooks.
Report deviations, equipment malfunctions, or safety incidents promptly.
Assist in equipment setup, changeovers, and dismantling.
Follow proper gowning, hygiene, and safety protocols.

Academic Qualifications:
Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) minimum.
Certificate or Diploma in Industrial Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, or related technical field is an added advantage.
Experience and Competencies:
Minimum of 3–4 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or cosmetics manufacturing environment involving topical/semi-solid products.
Knowledge of semi-solid processing equipment and quality parameters like pH and viscosity.
Familiarity with cleaning validation and cGMP documentation.
Ability to interpret batch records and follow instructions precisely.
Team player with good communication skills and strong attention to detail.
Physically fit and capable of working in a fast-paced production environment.
