Job Description
The role entails operating and monitoring primary packing equipment such as blister, strip, and bottle filling machines. The operator is required to load packaging materials, carry out in-process checks, maintain proper documentation, and report any deviations or malfunctions. Additionally, they must ensure cleanliness, proper labeling, and sealing while upholding product integrity. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in pharmaceutical packaging operations, a solid grasp of GMP standards, and the ability to perform tasks efficiently within a regulated production setting.

Operate blister packing, strip packing, and bottle filling machines in line with SOPs and BPRs.
Load packaging materials (e.g., PVC, aluminum foil, bottles, caps) according to production instructions.
Monitor equipment performance and adjust machine settings as needed.
Conduct visual inspections for sealing quality, labeling, coding, and integrity.
Record all activities and in-process checks in the batch packaging records.
Support line clearance and cleaning during batch changes and equipment setup.
Immediately report any faults or deviations to the supervisor.
Adhere to hygiene, safety, and gowning protocols in classified areas.
Handle and dispose of rejected units per SOP guidelines.
Participate in GMP, productivity, and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Academic Qualifications:
Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) minimum.
A certificate or diploma in Industrial Technology, Packaging, or a related technical field is an added advantage.
Experience and Competencies:
4–5 years of hands-on experience in primary packing of oral solid dosage forms.
Strong understanding of tablet compression machinery and packaging parameters.
Familiarity with cGMP, cleaning validation, and documentation practices.
Ability to interpret batch manufacturing records (BMRs) and follow technical instructions.
Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Proven experience working in cross-functional teams within a regulated production environment.
