Job Description
However, generally, the role of a National Coordinator encompasses several key responsibilities, often involving strategic oversight, coordination, and implementation of programs and initiatives at a national level
Duties and Responsibilities
Monitoring and Reporting:
Establish and maintain systems for monitoring and evaluating the progress of national initiatives.
Prepare and submit regular reports on the status and impact of national programs.
Use data and feedback to make informed decisions and adjust strategies as needed.
Capacity Building:
Identify capacity gaps and provide training and support to national and local stakeholders.
Facilitate the development of skills and knowledge necessary to implement national programs effectively.
Crisis Management:
Lead national response efforts during crises or emergencies.
Coordinate with relevant agencies to ensure a swift and effective response.
Manage communication and dissemination of information during crises.
Resource Mobilization:
Identify and secure funding and resources from national and international donors.
Develop proposals and applications for grants and other funding opportunities
Qualifications and Competencies
A first degree or professional qualification in peace and security studies, public administration and management: development studies; international relations, or a relevant field
Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience working in a relevant political, social, and economic issues in Uganda, and an interest in conflict prevention. peace-building, and governance programming involving young people Experience working in peace-building will be an advantage
Experience working with youth networks, youth policy, and engagement with the government will be an advantage
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint) and social media.
Some experience of participating in and running youth programs is beneficial but not required Knowledge of and interest in the electoral processes and social justice issues
Ability to relate to young people A self-starter with organizational and time
Strong management skills
Must be grounded and organized and yet flexible and open to the changing demands
Willing to step into tasks as needed and requested by management
