As we scale our digital microfinance platform, we are looking for a talented and driven Mifos / Apache Fineract Developer to join our IT team and help us shape the future of inclusive finance.
Role Overview
As a Mifos / Fineract Developer, you will be responsible for customizing, developing, and integrating the Mifos X / Apache Fineract platform to support Baikal's business processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations, develop new features, and maintain system performance across departments.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Customize and optimize Mifos X / Apache Fineract for microfinance operations.
Develop new modules, features, and RESTful APIs based on business requirements.
Integrate third-party systems such as mobile money platforms, credit bureaus, and payment gateways.
Configure loan products, savings accounts, and client management workflows.
Manage data migration and implement system setup for new branches.
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software issues effectively.
Collaborate with business and operations teams to define technical solutions.
Maintain technical documentation and provide training to end users.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2–4 years of hands-on experience with Mifos X or Apache Fineract.
Proficient in Java, Spring Framework, MySQL, and REST APIs.
Working knowledge of Angular or React, Linux environments, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Solid understanding of microfinance workflows, loan management, and financial accounting modules.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience integrating mobile money services (e.g., MTN, Airtel).
Background in microfinance, fintech, or digital banking systems.
Familiarity with KYC processes, client onboarding, and credit scoring systems.
