The Membership Relations Officer will be responsible for fostering strong relationships with SACCO members, ensuring their needs are addressed, and facilitating membership growth. The officer will manage member communications, address queries, and promote the benefits of SACCO membership. The role requires excellent communication skills, customer service orientation, and a deep understanding of SACCO operations.

Membership Engagement and Retention:
Develop and implement strategies to improve member engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all membership-related queries, providing timely responses to member inquiries.
Address and resolve member complaints and concerns in a professional and efficient manner.
Membership Onboarding:
Manage the onboarding process for new members, ensuring they are fully informed of the SACCO’s policies, services, and benefits.
Conduct orientations and provide guidance on SACCO operations, savings products, and loan services.
Membership Growth and Recruitment:
Identify and implement innovative approaches to attract new members to the SACCO.
Promote SACCO membership and benefits through outreach activities, seminars, and targeted marketing campaigns.
Member Database Management:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all members in the SACCO’s database.
Regularly update membership information, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
Generate reports and analytics on membership trends, growth, and demographics.
Communication and Member Education:
Design and distribute regular newsletters, announcements, and updates to keep members informed of SACCO activities, services, and upcoming events.
Organize and facilitate member education programs and workshops on SACCO services, financial literacy, and member benefits.
Collaboration with SACCO Departments:
Work closely with the finance and loan departments to ensure member accounts are properly managed, and that loan processing and savings account services are smoothly coordinated.
Act as a liaison between members and the SACCO board, conveying member feedback and suggestions for service improvement.
Event Planning and Coordination:
Plan and coordinate SACCO member events, annual general meetings (AGMs), and special member initiatives.
Ensure successful execution of all events aimed at enhancing member relations and engagement.
Policy and Procedure Development:
Contribute to the development and improvement of membership policies and procedures in line with SACCO regulations.
Ensure all member activities comply with SACCO policies, local regulations, and financial best practices.
Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.
Experience: At least 3 years of experience in customer service, public relations, or membership management, preferably within a SACCO or financial institution.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
Familiarity with SACCO operations, financial services, or cooperative societies.
Proficiency in database management and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to multitask, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
Strong ethical standards and confidentiality in handling member information.
Reporting Line:
The Membership Relations Officer will report directly to the SACCO Manager or the Membership Relations Manager.
