National Insurance Corporation (now NIC Holdings Limited) was established in 1964 as a wholly owned Government parastatal and the leading provider of insurance and financial services in Uganda.
In 2005, NIC was privatized with the continental insurance giant, Industrial and General Insurance Plc (IGI) acquiring majority (60%) stake through its special purpose vehicle, Corporate Holdings Limited.
On 25th March 2010, NIC was listed on the Uganda Securities Exchange becoming the first (and only) Uganda registered insurance company to be listed on the USE.
In 2014, pursuant to the Insurance (Amendment) Act, NIC was restructured and re-branded into and insurance group with a holding company and two virile wholly owned insurance subsidiaries, NIC General Insurance Company Limited and NIC Life Assurance Company Limited.

How to Apply
Prospect Generation: Identify and develop a pool of potential clients for insurance services.
Market Intelligence: Monitor and report on trends and opportunities in the Ordinary Life and General Insurance sectors.
Proposal Development: Prepare and present quotations and proposals in line with underwriting guidelines.
Client Service: Ensure ongoing communication and timely support to clients, addressing inquiries and service needs.
Sales Targets: Achieve weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and premium targets.
Team Engagement: Participate actively in unit meetings and contribute to team success.
Revenue Collection: Follow up on and ensure timely premium payments from clients.
Sales Closure: Drive the full sales cycle to close deals and maximize profitability.
Professional Development: Must be willing to pursue the Certificate of Proficiency (COP) in Insurance.

Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field (e.g., Marketing, Business Administration, Finance, Economics).
Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a sales role, preferably in the services sector (insurance, banking, telecom, etc.).
Skills:
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Basic computer literacy (MS Office)
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet targets
Willingness to learn and grow within the insurance industry
