Position: Lifting Supervisor

Location: Buliisa, Western Uganda (Lake Albert Oilfields)
Employment Type: Full-time | Field-based (rotational shifts with camp accommodation)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Lifting Supervisor to manage and oversee all lifting operations at our Lake Albert oilfield site in Buliisa. The ideal candidate will ensure that all lifting activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with OML’s Lifting Management System (LMS) and regulatory requirements.

Supervise all lifting activities in accordance with OML’s Lifting Management System and approved lifting plans.
Lead daily toolbox talks and pre-lift risk assessments with crane operators, riggers, and HSE personnel.
Inspect and verify crane setup, load charts, rigging gear integrity, and ground conditions prior to lifting operations.
Maintain accurate records of lifting gear certifications, equipment registers, and inspection logs.
Oversee the reporting of incidents, near-misses, and implement corrective actions and lessons learned.
Liaise with procurement and contractors regarding lifting gear requirements and participate in scheduled audits.
Prepare and submit daily lifting operation reports and consolidate weekly/monthly performance summaries.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Certifications (Mandatory):
Certified Lifting Supervisor (e.g., LEEA, APLO, OPITO); LEEA certification is highly preferred.
Experience:
3–5 years of hands-on field experience in lifting operations, preferably within oil & gas or heavy construction sectors.
Technical Expertise:
Proficient with mobile cranes, crawler cranes, and overhead lifting systems.
Strong knowledge of rigging practices, load charts, lifting plans, and risk assessments.
Committed to HSE compliance and ground condition evaluation.
Documentation Required:
Updated resume/CV
Valid Certificate(s) of Competence in lifting supervision
Certificate of Good Conduct (Interpol or national equivalent) – required for work permit processing in Uganda
Confirmation of availability of a valid or temporary passport
