Equator University of Science and Technology (EQUSaT) is one of Uganda’s newest private universities, committed to delivering quality education. Accredited by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), EQUSaT offers a range of academic programs including Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB), Dental Surgery (BDS), Information Technology (BIT), Business Administration (BBA), and Public Health. There are also diploma and certificate programs in IT, Computer Science, and Business Administration. Job Description
Job Title: Librarian (1 Position)
EQUSaT is inviting applications from qualified, competent, and motivated individuals to fill the following positions. Applications must be submitted both electronically and in five hard copies, including an updated CV, academic credentials, employment records, and a national ID or passport. Three professional referees must also be provided with reachable email, phone, and WhatsApp contact information.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Select, classify, and manage library resources.
Enhance student and staff engagement with the library’s learning environment.
Recruit, train, and supervise library staff.
Handle library user inquiries and complaints professionally.
Assist in budget preparation and resource planning for the library.
Administer daily library operations and user education programs.
Support e-library and ODeL (Open Distance eLearning) services.
Liaise with departments to meet reading and research needs.
Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in the library.
Maintain and upgrade library IT infrastructure and resources.
Perform other duties as assigned by University supervisors.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Master’s degree in Library and Information Science or a related field.
At least three (3) years of experience in a recognized university or higher education institution.
Proficiency in using digital library information systems.
Strong administrative and managerial skills.
A PhD is an added advantage.
