The Mountains of the Moon University, is a public university in Uganda. Founded as a private, non-profit institution, the university became a public institution following an executive directive in January 2018. It is named after the Rwenzori Mountains, also known as the Mountains of the Moon.

Job Description
Mountains of the Moon University (MMU) is a Public University established under Statutory Instrument, Number 2 of 2022, hence a body corporate with perpetual succession and a Common Seal. First established as a Private University in 2005, by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), in accordance with the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act 2001, as amended, MMU has been making strides towards becoming an academic Centre of excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching:
Designing and delivering courses in educational psychology at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
Developing curriculum materials, including lectures, assignments, readings, and assessments, that align with course objectives.
Conducting lectures, seminars, and workshops to engage students in the study of educational psychology theories, principles, and applications.
Providing guidance and support to students, including advising on academic matters, mentoring, and supervising student research projects or dissertations.
Research:
Conducting research in educational psychology, including designing studies, collecting and analyzing data, and disseminating findings through publications in academic journals, presentations at conferences, and other scholarly outlets.
Collaborating with colleagues, graduate students, and external partners on research projects related to educational psychology.
Securing research funding through grant applications and proposals to support research activities in educational psychology.
Academic Administration:
Participating in departmental and university committees and meetings related to curriculum development, program assessment, and academic policy.
Contributing to the development and review of educational psychology programs, courses, and learning outcomes.
Assisting in the recruitment, selection, and evaluation of students, including participation in admissions processes and serving on thesis or dissertation committees.
Providing leadership and mentorship to junior faculty members and graduate students in educational psychology.
Professional Development:
Engaging in professional development activities to stay current with developments in the field of educational psychology, including attending conferences, workshops, and seminars.
Pursuing opportunities for continuing education, certification, or licensure in educational psychology or related fields.
Networking with colleagues and professionals in educational psychology through professional organizations and associations.
Community Engagement:
Collaborating with schools, educational institutions, and community organizations to apply research findings and theories in educational psychology to address practical issues and improve educational outcomes.
Participating in outreach activities, such as workshops, seminars, and consultations, to share knowledge and expertise in educational psychology with educators, policymakers, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications and Competencies
Should have a PhD degree in Education Psychology
Should have a Master's degree in Education Psychology
Should have a First Class or Upper Second Degree in Education
Should have a minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience, three (3) of which should have been served as an Assistant Lecturer in an Institution of higher learning or an equivalent level of experience from a recognised awarding University/Institution
Should have at least two (2) internationally recognized peer reviewed publications in the field of specialization.
Evidence of project-led tasks is an added advantage
Demonstrated computer literacy.
