About the Organisation
Bugema University is a private, co-educational institution of higher learning located in Kalagala, Luweero District, Uganda, approximately 33 kilometers northeast of Kampala. Established in 1948 as the Bugema Missionary Training School to train teachers and pastors for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in East Africa, it evolved into Bugema Missionary College and later Bugema Adventist College.
In 1994, it attained university status, and in 1997, it was licensed by the Uganda Ministry of Education and Sports to operate as a university. Affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Bugema University is part of the global Seventh-day Adventist education system, the world's second-largest Christian school system.
The university offers a diverse range of academic programs across various disciplines, including Business Administration, Education, Theology and Religious Studies, Science and Technology, Agriculture and Applied Sciences, Health and Allied Sciences, and Social Sciences.
It provides undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs, some in collaboration with international institutions like the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton (Kenya), and Central Luzon State University (Philippines). The university's mission is to offer an excellent and distinctive holistic Christian education designed to prepare students, through training, research, and scholarship, for productive lives of service to God and the community with integrity, encapsulated in its motto: "Excellence in Service."

Job Description
The role involves delivering lectures to undergraduate and/or postgraduate students, engaging in research, supervising student projects, developing course materials, and contributing to the academic growth of the department. Lecturers will also participate in administrative duties and university events while upholding the values of the institution.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Conduct lectures and tutorials for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Supervise research and practical projects.
Develop, review, and update course content and teaching materials.
Engage in academic research and publish scholarly articles.
Participate in curriculum review and development.
Offer mentorship and academic advising to students.
Attend departmental and university-wide meetings and contribute to policy and planning.
Support university community outreach programs.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Master’s Degree in any of the following fields:
Software Engineering
Computer Networks and Security
Cybersecurity
Cloud Computing
Open Source Software Development
PhD holders or candidates working toward a PhD in the listed areas will have an added advantage.
Experience in university-level teaching and research is preferred.
Proficiency in relevant programming languages and development tools.
Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
Commitment to academic integrity and excellence.
