Job Description
The Laundry Attendant will be responsible for processing all hotel and apartment linen, staff uniforms, and guest laundry with utmost care and efficiency. This role is essential in ensuring linens and uniforms are always pristine, fresh, and ready for use, directly contributing to guest satisfaction and smooth housekeeping operations.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Sort, count, and pre-treat soiled linens, towels, uniforms, and guest laundry by fabric type and colour.
- Operate and monitor commercial washers, dryers, ironers, and folding machines safely and efficiently.
- Identify stains and apply appropriate treatment techniques to achieve the best results.
- Press, steam, fold, and package laundry items according to hotel standards.
- Inspect all items for stains, damage, or wear and tear and report issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, organised laundry area and assist in monitoring linen stock levels.
- Handle guest laundry requests carefully, ensuring accurate tagging and timely delivery.
- Adhere to safety procedures, including correct use of chemicals and equipment.
- Work collaboratively with housekeeping and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
