Job Title
Laboratory Technologists-Genomics job at Ministry of Health
Job Description
Prepare samples for genomic sequencing, including DNA extraction and purification. Analyze sequencing data and prepare reports on findings. Assist in the development and validation of new genomic tests and protocols.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform routine laboratory procedures according to established protocols.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as DNA sequencers, PCR machines, and other molecular biology instruments
Prepare samples for genomic sequencing, including DNA extraction and purification.
Analyze sequencing data and prepare reports on findings.
Assist in the development and validation of new genomic tests and protocols.
Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Participate in laboratory meetings and contribute to strategic planning.

Qualifications and Competencies
A bachelor's degree in laboratory science or a related field.
A Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
Three (3) years of working molecular microbiology experience and knowledge of genomics, population genetics, data science, and computational biology (hands-on experience with basic bioinformatics tools/software).
