Job Description
The Junior MLOps Engineer will join CloudFactory’s service delivery team to monitor and maintain ML models in production, ensuring operational efficiency and performance. The engineer will monitor pipelines, address incidents, classify priorities, and provide support during outages or performance issues. They will evaluate champion/challenger models for promotion, conduct bias reviews, and compile quarterly business health reviews of the deployed models. The role requires proficiency in ML tools and platforms, including Python, Azure, MLFlow, Databricks, PowerBI, and Grafana. Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Kubernetes) is a plus. The engineer must be proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative, contributing to model refinement and bias mitigation.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Monitor health, pipelines, and alerts of ML models in production.
Respond to or escalate incidents involving model outages or performance issues.
Classify issues for incident management and coordinate resolution with support teams.
Build and present quarterly business reviews on model health and performance.
Evaluate model performance (champion/challenger) for continuous improvement.
Ensure fairness and prevent bias in new or updated models.
Collaborate with data scientists and engineering teams for A/B testing and model iteration.
Maintain and update monitoring dashboards using PowerBI and Grafana.
Work within version-controlled environments using Git.
Support deployment and automation of workflows using Python and MLFlow.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or a related field.
Passion for AI and ML technologies, especially model optimization in production.
Proficiency in Python and familiarity with Azure ML services.
Experience with MLFlow, Databricks, PowerBI, Grafana, and Git.
Interest or experience in containerization and Kubernetes is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and ability to spot performance or bias issues in models.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Willingness to work from 12pm to 7pm EAT and occasionally outside those hours as needed.
