Job Description
This senior-level role is ideal for a seasoned engineer or product leader with a passion for building resilient, scalable, and user-centric platforms. The Product Innovation Manager will lead a technical team, guide architectural decisions, and champion best practices in engineering. Responsibilities include mentoring developers, improving infrastructure and performance, ensuring platform security, and integrating emerging technologies like AI. The ideal candidate will also represent PLP at tech events, contribute to thought leadership, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align product development with organizational goals.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership across engineering teams and projects.
Architect and develop scalable, maintainable systems using microservices architecture.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews and coaching.
Enforce engineering best practices, quality assurance, and coding standards.
Collaborate with product and cross-functional teams to define and meet technical goals.
Improve and manage CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
Monitor and enhance system performance, availability, and security.
Promote continuous improvement in development processes and tools.
Represent PLP at technology conferences and forums, building thought leadership.
Stay informed on emerging technologies and integrate relevant innovations.
Contribute to product and platform evolution in response to tech landscape changes.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a senior or leadership role.
Strong expertise in distributed systems, microservices, and API design.
Cloud-native infrastructure experience with tools like AWS, Docker, Kubernetes.
Proficient in performance optimization for data-intensive applications.
Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps best practices.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Tech Stack (Preferred Experience):
Languages: Golang, NodeJS
Frontend: ReactJS, NextJS
Databases: MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL
Infrastructure: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes
Messaging: Kafka, RabbitMQ
Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack
Caching: Redis
AI Integration: Experience with OpenAI, Vertex AI
Testing: Jest, Mocha, Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI
Third-party integrations: API and SDK management
Nice to Have:
Experience in fast-paced startups or high-growth environments.
Knowledge of event-driven architecture and asynchronous processing.
Familiarity with infrastructure automation and security best practices.
Success Metrics:
Ability to scale LMS for 100,000+ users with minimal downtime.
Development of a high-performing engineering team with fast release cycles.
Successful integration of new technologies like AI into user experiences.
Established stakeholder trust and improved platform security and observability.
