Job Description
The Junior Accountant at Lapaire Group will be based in Kampala, Uganda and will be responsible for the accounting activities of the organization and will be a part of the Finance Team.
The Junior Accountant will work closely with and report to the Senior Accountant and Finance Manager (both based in Côte d'Ivoire), and interact with the local teams across the branches in Uganda.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
The following are the main tasks and duties of the role:
• Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
• Update accounts receivable and issue invoices
• Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations
• Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
• Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned
• Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closing
• Assist in financial and tax audits, and general ledger preparation.
• Prepare VAT returns
• Assist with other accounting projects and any other task as required by the Manager.
