Job Purpose
Opportunity Bank is seeking a creative, agile, and results-driven IT Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and support our database environments, including Oracle and MS SQL databases, while also supporting system reporting and core banking functionalities.
The DBA will be responsible for planning, configuration, administration, and optimization of database systems as well as the design and delivery of system reports within the core banking system.

How to Apply
Install, configure, and maintain Oracle and MS SQL databases in accordance with IT policy.
Define and manage data elements, tables, records, schema, and related database components.
Implement and enforce security protocols to protect database access and data integrity.
Monitor daily backups, logs, and transactions to ensure database reliability.
Manage data replication and distribution across Disaster Recovery (DR) environments.
Conduct performance testing on physical database designs and suggest improvements.
Allocate and monitor disk space; optimize database storage and access performance.
Maintain schema libraries and respond to user requests for data views and access.
Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies; perform recovery as needed.
Monitor performance metrics and system health, ensuring conformance to performance goals.
Maintain thorough documentation of test and production environments.
Prepare periodic performance and utilization reports on all database systems.
Provide technical user support for the core banking system and related business applications.
Support Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) processes.
Run daily core banking system end-of-day processing.
Design and develop accurate system reports as required.
Ensure all reports are delivered to intended users in a timely and accessible format.
Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in database administration and support.
Certification in Oracle / MS SQL database administration is preferred.
Proven experience in both transactional and data warehouse environments.
Strong skills in report development using SQL scripts.
Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and database administration for Oracle, MS SQL, and/or Sybase.
Familiarity with both Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems.

Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks effectively.
