Job Description
The role involves planning and conducting audits, evaluating the effectiveness of risk management and internal control systems, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations, and recommending improvements. The Internal Auditor will also conduct reviews related to IT security, financial management, quality systems, and provide support to external audits.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Conduct internal audits on accounting, administration, IT systems, and operations.
Prepare audit reports and working papers.
Develop and implement risk-based audit plans and schedules.
Review and evaluate internal controls and recommend improvements.
Examine ICT security policies, procedures, and controls to ensure information asset integrity and confidentiality.
Perform control reviews covering development standards, operating procedures, system security, disaster recovery, etc.
Support and coordinate the department's Quality Management System (QMS) and Information Security Management System (ISMS).
Identify areas for improvement in IT policy and practice.
Follow up on implementation of audit recommendations and report progress.
Conduct ad hoc audits and provide assistance to external auditors.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting/Finance) or equivalent.
CPA (K), ACCA, or CIA certification is required.
CISA, CISM, or CFE certification is an added advantage.
Proficient in computer applications.
Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
