Job Summary
C-Care Uganda is seeking a qualified and proactive Infection Control Officer to lead and manage infection prevention and control (IPC) programs across its IMC facilities. The officer will be responsible for assessing IPC practices, implementing standards, training staff, and ensuring full compliance with both local and international infection control protocols to safeguard patient and staff health.

How to Apply
Lead the design, implementation, and daily oversight of the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) program at all IMC facilities.
Conduct regular assessments of IPC practices and ensure full compliance with safety standards for both patients and healthcare workers.
Collaborate with the IPC Committee, Clinical Directorate, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Medical Equipment Coordinator, Housekeeping, Linen Services, Food Services, HR, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment in infection control practices.
Oversee and coordinate training sessions and competency evaluations for both clinical and non-clinical staff on IPC protocols.
Provide expert guidance and consultation on infection prevention issues and contribute to new project planning and execution.
Lead the development, review, and implementation of infection control policies, ensuring they align with international standards and best practices.
Identify, manage, and resolve challenges encountered during the implementation of the IPC program.
Conduct both scheduled and ad hoc staff assessments on adherence to IPC measures.
Ensure that all IPC focal persons and IMC staff are adequately trained, and address any gaps through targeted capacity building and provision of tools, resources, and PPE.
Degree or diploma in Nursing, Public Health, Environmental Health, or a related healthcare field.
Additional certification or training in Infection Prevention and Control is an added advantage.
Proven experience in healthcare infection control or clinical quality management.
Strong understanding of IPC standards, risk assessments, and staff training methodologies.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
Strong problem-solving and leadership abilities.
