Job Description
Position: In-House Bookkeeper / Accountant
Location: Uganda

Grace Clean Energy & Water Limited Uganda is seeking a mature, experienced, and self-motivated team player with strong leadership skills to join us as an In-House Bookkeeper.
This is initially a part-time position starting in early 2026, with the potential to transition to full-time employment based on performance and the ability to take on additional responsibilities.
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
Excellent leadership and communication skills in English and Luganda
Ability to initiate and manage projects independently
Ability to complete tasks accurately and efficiently
Successful candidates who complete the probationary period satisfactorily will be offered a full-time salary and employment.
Reporting Line: You will report directly to the CEO/CFO and company owners.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Accounting
Establish and maintain accurate financial records in Excel and QuickBooks, including:
Petty cash usage and sources
Customer payments (cash, EFT, cheque) for services and spare parts
Complete and accurate ledger of invoices and receipts
Prepare monthly payroll
Prepare and submit monthly NSSF, PAYE, and VAT filings to CEO/COO by the 11th of each month
Set up QuickBooks accounts for 2026 and generate year-to-date P&L statements and balance sheets
Support external accountants with monthly and quarterly financial statements by ensuring all entries are accurate in QuickBooks
2. Inventory & Procurement
Coordinate quarterly inventory data with the Senior Technical Manager
Work with the CEO on ordering supplies and managing stock
3. Banking & Budgeting
Review all monthly bank statements for accuracy
Collaborate with the CFO to prepare and monitor the full-year budget (monthly and quarterly forecasts)
Pay close attention to major operating costs, including vehicle, fuel, transport, and marketing expenses
4. Meetings & Collaboration
Attend meetings with the external accountant and auditors as required
Contribute ideas during weekly team meetings (Zoom or in-office) led by the CEO or owners
Successful performance during the probation period may lead to a fixed full-time contract.
Sales Executive (Optional Role / Reference)
Key Responsibilities:
Educate and guide prospective customers on solar power systems, water purifiers, water tanks, pumps, and spare parts
Respond to inquiries regarding product pricing, availability, features, and benefits
Highlight cost, energy, and health benefits of products
Identify and pursue promising sales leads, set appointments, and follow through to completed sales
Submit approved quotations and ensure purchase order completion
Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets (two main products per month)
Maintain and grow customer relationships
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Requirements:
High school diploma (good grades required); business or sales courses advantageous
University degree in Sales & Marketing or Business Administration is highly desirable
Minimum 3 years of B2B sales experience (solar systems and water purifiers experience a plus)
Strong English communication and networking skills; ability to pitch to senior decision-makers
Excellent customer service, honesty, and integrity
