Ntake Bakery & Company Limited is seeking a passionate, detail-oriented, and results-driven Accountant to join our Distribution Entity team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial success and operational excellence of one of East Africa’s most respected brands.

Reports To: Manager – Distribution Entity

Workstation: Ntake Bakery & Company Ltd – Head Office, Kampala
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
1. Daily Physical Counting of Truck Returns
Conduct daily physical counts of returned items from sales trucks before loading new stock.
Reconcile returned goods with delivery notes, invoices, and system records.
Report discrepancies, damages, or shortages immediately to management.
Maintain detailed and accurate records to support stock control and audits.
2. Invoice Posting – Ntake Edible Oil Refinery
Post daily invoices using Mermidon software.
Cross-check invoices against delivery notes and stock data for accuracy.
Ensure correct quantities, prices, and customer details on all invoices.
Maintain organized digital and physical invoice records.
3. Daily Store Stock Counting
Conduct morning stock counts before dispatch operations.
Reconcile physical and system stock data; investigate variances.
Prepare daily stock reports for management review.
Support accurate inventory management and replenishment planning.
4. Filing and Summarizing Delivery Notes
Collect, file, and organize customer delivery notes daily.
Prepare summaries of deliveries (daily, weekly, monthly).
Maintain proper documentation for audit and internal control.
5. Posting Returns and Credit Notes
Post returned goods and credit notes accurately in the accounting system.
Verify supporting documentation and ensure proper approval processes.
Maintain clear audit trails and resolve discrepancies promptly.
6. Bank Reconciliation
Perform daily bank reconciliations for Ntake Edible Oil Refinery accounts.
Verify bank transactions against internal records and investigate variances.
Prepare reconciliation reports and maintain supporting documentation.
7. Commission Calculation
Compute monthly commissions for sales, marketing, and administrative staff.
Ensure compliance with approved rates and company policy.
Maintain transparency and accurate records for management review.
8. EFRIS Reporting & Regulatory Compliance
Prepare and submit EFRIS reports accurately and on time.
Support compliance with all tax and financial reporting standards.
Provide financial insights to the Manager – Distribution Entity and Operations Manager – Flour Mill.
Stay up to date with changes in tax and accounting regulations.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification – Mandatory.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in distribution or FMCG operations.
Proficiency in Mermidon and EFRIS reporting.
Knowledge of SAP, QuickBooks, or Navision is an advantage.
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management.
Ability to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
High integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
