As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a Human Resource Assistant (HRA) to join our HR team at our Head Office in Nalukolongo. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated HR professional eager to contribute to a fast-paced, values-driven, and growth-oriented organization.
Position Overview
As a Human Resource Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the HR department. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate employee records, supporting recruitment and onboarding, assisting with payroll, handling staff welfare concerns, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and Ugandan labor laws.

How to Apply
Attendance & Time Management
Monitor staff attendance and punctuality (permanent and casual workers).
Prepare detailed daily, weekly, and monthly attendance reports.
Follow up on absenteeism, lateness, and shift anomalies; escalate concerns to HR Manager.
Track contract expirations, confirmations, and probation evaluations.
Wage & Payroll Support
Verify and compile attendance records for weekly casual wage processing.
Assist in preparing monthly payroll inputs—salaries, allowances, bonuses, deductions.
Ensure timely submission of statutory payments (NSSF, PAYE, LST, etc.).
Address payroll-related queries while maintaining confidentiality.
Recruitment & Onboarding
Post job ads, screen applicants, and coordinate interview logistics.
Draft offer letters, contracts, and employment documentation.
Facilitate new staff orientation and ensure a smooth onboarding process.
Conduct background checks and manage recruitment paperwork.
Employee Records & Documentation
Maintain accurate digital and physical employee files.
Regularly audit records for completeness and compliance.
Digitize records using HRIS (Mermidon).
Archive exited staff files and ensure easy retrieval when needed.
Leave & Exit Management
Track and update leave balances and approvals.
Support exit clearance procedures and compute final dues.
Conduct exit interviews and compile staff exit feedback reports.
Disciplinary & Performance Processes
Draft disciplinary letters and support documentation of hearings.
Track performance reviews and appraisal schedules.
Report cases of misconduct or underperformance to HR leadership.
Staff Welfare & Employee Relations
Act as the first point of contact for staff HR-related inquiries.
Support staff wellness and engagement activities.
Assist with conflict resolution and workplace harmony initiatives.
Compliance, Training & Reporting
Ensure HR practices comply with labor laws and company policies.
Coordinate in-house and external training programs.
Prepare HR metrics and reports (turnover, absenteeism, headcount, etc.).
Support HR audits and contribute to process improvements.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration (HR option), or related field.
1–2 years of hands-on HR experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings.
Familiarity with Ugandan labor laws and employment regulations.
Prior experience with HRIS (e.g., Mermidon) is an added advantage.
Working knowledge of payroll and employee onboarding is preferred.

Requires strict adherence to confidentiality and company policies.
