Job Description
The HR Officer will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day HR operations at the Polokwane Distribution Centre. This includes managing staff attendance records, processing overtime, handling personnel data, and supporting recruitment and onboarding. The HR Officer will also facilitate employee inductions and exits, guide management and staff on HR policies and labour law, and provide employee relations and disciplinary support. In addition, the role involves managing uniforms and stationery stock to support efficient operational processes.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
PRP (Payroll Related Processes):
Ensure accurate daily staff clocking and attendance records
Monitor staff hours, overtime, and leave forms
Compile reports on time trends and overtime for management approval
HR Functions:
Maintain accurate and updated personnel records
Manage HR correspondence and supervise HR assistant
Provide HR policy guidance to staff and managers
Assist in job postings, recruitment, and onboarding processes
Support employee transfers and conduct exit interviews
Industrial Relations (IR):
Investigate and resolve employee relations issues
Guide managers through disciplinary and grievance procedures
Provide counselling and conflict resolution support
Additional Duties:
Manage staff uniforms (ordering, issuing, and control)
Oversee stationery supply and distribution
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
Higher Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources or related field
Experience:
Minimum 4 years of relevant HR experience
Experience in recruitment and employee relations
Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of South African labour laws
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Good organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage confidential information with integrity
Strong communication and team collaboration abilities
