Job Description
The HR Manager will be responsible for developing and executing HR strategies that align with the company’s business objectives. This includes overseeing recruitment, employee engagement, performance management, compensation and benefits, legal compliance, and training and development. The successful candidate will serve as a strategic partner to leadership and a trusted advocate for employees. The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and a deep understanding of HR best practices and labor legislation. The HR Manager will also analyze HR metrics and provide data-driven insights to support decision-making.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and implement HR strategies and policies in line with business objectives
Manage employee relations and resolve grievances and workplace concerns
Oversee the end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes
Drive employee engagement, development, and retention initiatives
Administer performance appraisal systems and support a culture of high performance
Manage compensation structures and employee benefits programs
Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal HR policies
Provide HR metrics and reports to senior management for informed decision-making
Coordinate training needs and implement learning and development programs
Maintain accurate and secure HR records and documentation
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree or HR certification preferred)
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Human Resources Manager or similar role
Proficient in HR systems and databases
Strong strategic and leadership skills
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities
In-depth knowledge of South African labor laws and HR best practices
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across all levels of the organization
