Position Overview
The Health Manager will lead IRC’s health programs in Kiryandongo District, ensuring effective delivery of primary healthcare services. Reporting to the Deputy Health Coordinator, the role encompasses program management, staff supervision, coordination with stakeholders, and compliance with IRC and donor requirements.

How to Apply
Program Management
Lead implementation of emergency health services in line with IRC and Ministry of Health guidelines.
Develop and manage work plans, and conduct regular site visits.
Address technical issues and ensure program quality and alignment with donor standards.
Oversee medical and operational supply chain management.
Promote integrated programming by collaborating with other IRC sectors.
Team Supervision & Development
Supervise Health Officers, support team performance and professional development.
Facilitate training and mentoring on technical and managerial competencies.
Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
Grants & Reporting
Support the management of health-related grants.
Contribute to proposal writing, budgeting, and reporting (internal and donor).
Monitor spending and procurement to align with donor priorities.
Regularly review Budget vs Actual (BvA) reports and address discrepancies.
Coordination & Representation
Liaise with local authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, and community leaders.
Represent IRC in sector coordination meetings and forums.
Monitoring & Evaluation
Ensure timely data collection, analysis, and reporting for all health projects.
Collaborate with the M&E team to track progress and impact.
Conduct monthly data reviews with health staff to inform action plans.
Security & Other Duties
Monitor safety of teams and escalate security concerns.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor to support IRC programs.
Degree in a health-related field; Master’s in Public Health is an added advantage.
At least 5 years of experience managing health programs, ideally in humanitarian settings.
Strong background in primary health care and team leadership.
Experience in grant management, proposal writing, and staff capacity building.
Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to work under pressure in challenging environments.
Experience in health assessments and situation analysis.
