Job Title: Head of Operations
Organisation: Liberty General Insurance Limited
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
The Head of Operations will play a key role as a member of the Company’s executive team, responsible for operational efficiencies in order to ensure a competitive advantage the Company. To provide decision support on operational matters to the Managing Director. The role holder is also responsible for upholding best practices in underwriting and claims management and arrangement of optimal reinsurance programs for the business.

How to Apply
Responsibilities:
Develop the company’s Operations Strategy
Review the Company’s Operations strategy and ensure its effectiveness.
Oversee the Underwriting, Claims, General Administration, Product Administration, Customer Service and Premium Processing functions.
Ensure that all funds receipted in the Company are applied to the appropriate accounts, accurately and in a timely manner. Further introduce electronic funds collection to leverage on mobile telephony.
Put in place standards for the company and interdepartmental service level agreements that will improve the company’s service ratings.
Enhance operational efficiency for the Company.
Set and monitor Operational Budgets
Ensure that the underwriting policies and claims policies reflect the Company’s strategic risk management framework and are observed at all times.
Ensure that service to customers and producers meets their expectations.
Ensuring that the Company’s procurement is cost effective, efficient, and done professionally and in accordance with the Company policy.
Support the company’s strategic plan by ensuring a reliable Customer relationship Management system.
Ensure appropriate staffing levels, effective performance management and motivation of staff.
Academic and Professional Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Business, Law, or related discipline from a reputable university.
A master’s degree will be an added advantage.
Professional qualification(s) in insurance e.g., ACII, FCII or equivalent.
Experience
Ten (10) years’ post qualification experience with at least five (5) years as in General Insurance underwriting and / or Claims management.
In addition, the candidate should have exposure to reinsurance treaty arrangements and related field.
