Job Description

Reporting to the Chief Technology, Digital & Operations Officer, the Head of Digital Transformation will play a strategic role in reshaping the bank’s digital landscape. The role involves revamping digital platforms, modernizing technology infrastructure, and applying innovative methodologies to enhance customer value. The role-holder will actively support business units in identifying and prioritizing digital initiatives, ensure smooth integration of technology solutions, and drive operational excellence. Additionally, the position requires fostering a culture of compliance, risk management, and continuous innovation while building strong industry and internal relationships.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of the bank’s innovation and digital transformation strategy.

  • Revamp digital platforms to enhance efficiency and customer experience.

  • Modernize technology infrastructure and enable third-party integrations.

  • Apply LEAN, Agile methodologies, automation, and process reengineering to create customer value.

  • Collaborate with business leads and marketing to develop innovative product portfolios and deliver rapid solutions to market.

  • Establish a strong risk and compliance management culture within the department.

  • Oversee implementation of new or improved systems, providing training and support to users.

  • Ensure post-go-live problems are resolved efficiently.

  • Work closely with the Business Technology Department to ensure efficiency in digital channels.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Business Computing, or related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.

  • Professional Qualifications: Technology certifications (TOGAF, Cloud Architect), Banking (ACIB), or Project Management (Agile, Prince II) are advantageous.

  • Experience: At least 10 years’ experience, with 5 years in a senior technology or digital transformation role within a large financial services institution.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Knowledge in FinTech, Digital Transformation, and Innovation.

    • Experience with Cloud, AI, Robotics, Blockchain, Machine Learning, and UX design.

    • Strong understanding of banking operations, FinTech, and product development trends.

  • Competencies:

    • Business process analysis and redesign.

    • Strong interpersonal, networking, and mentoring skills.

    • Ability to link complex technologies with business strategies.

    • Proven leadership in driving innovation and managing change.
