Group Security & Risk Manager Job at Strategic Engagement

Job Description
To provide professional leadership, coordination, and oversight of all security, safety, and risk- related matters across the Group’s operations and properties. This role strengthens preventive security management, incident response, compliance, and stakeholder engagement in line with the Group’s expanding footprint and asset base.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Security Management & Oversight
- Develop, implement, and periodically review Group-wide security policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines.
- Oversee security operations across all factories, offices, warehouses, and owned properties in Kampala, Wakiso, Njeru, Jinja, and other operational locations.
- Supervise and coordinate contracted security service providers to ensure compliance with agreed service standards.
- Conduct regular security risk assessments, vulnerability audits, and threat analyses for all sites and recommend mitigation measures.
Risk, Safety & Incident Management
- Lead investigations into security incidents including theft, vandalism, trespass, fraud-related risks, accidents, and breaches.
- Prepare clear, factual, and timely incident and investigation reports for Management and the Board.
- Establish and manage emergency response plans, including fire safety, evacuation drills, and crisis management procedures.
- Liaise with Uganda Police Force, local administration, and other relevant authorities on matters affecting Group security.
Property & Asset Protection
- Ensure effective protection of all Group assets, inventory, equipment, and properties. Oversee access control systems, visitor management, CCTV surveillance, alarms, and patrol procedures.
- Provide technical security input for new sites, expansions, and property acquisitions.
Compliance & Advisory Role
- Ensure all security operations comply with applicable Ugandan laws and regulatory requirements.
- Advise Management and the Board on emerging security risks, trends, and preventive strategies.
- Support HR and Management in disciplinary, grievance, or employee-related matters with a security dimension.
Training & Awareness
- Conduct security awareness and safety training for staff across all sites.
- Train guards and supervisors on security procedures, incident reporting, and emergency response.
