Job Title:   Grants and Business Development Officer

Organisation: Mildmay Institute of Health Sciences

Duty Station: Wakiso, Uganda


The position holder will contribute towards strategic and innovative income generating ventures for non-tuition income through MIHS grants and business development center (including grants acquisition, Community capacity building programs, professional development programs, consultancies, technology and Innovation, and experiential learning) to facilitate the sustainability of MIHS.

  • First degree or its equivalent in a health or education related field

  • Masters degree in a relevant field (Health and Education or Management)

  • Training in resource mobilization is an added advantage


Job related experience and knowledge:

  • 5 years’ experience with at least 2 years in a leadership position in an education or training function.

  • Track record of resource mobilization and management

  • Knowledge of key issues in current and emerging health priorities (including Palliative care, HIV, other epidemics and general health care

  • Knowledge of business product and project cycle management

  • Knowledge of facilitating adult teaching and learning

  • Knowledge of Ministry of health and Ministry of education standards/guidelines

  • Knowledge of Designing capacity building interventions

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
