Job Description
The GPS Officer is responsible for overseeing the company's GPS tracking systems and ensuring the efficient monitoring of company assets, vehicles, and personnel. They play a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiency, improving asset security, and optimizing fleet management processes
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage and maintain GPS tracking systems to monitor the location, movement, and performance of company assets, vehicles, and personnel.
Develop and implement procedures for tracking and reporting on asset utilization, route efficiency, and fuel consumption.
Monitor real-time data from GPS devices to identify and address issues such as unauthorized vehicle use, route deviations, and vehicle maintenance needs.
Coordinate with fleet managers and drivers to optimize route planning, reduce fuel costs, and improve overall fleet efficiency.
Conduct regular audits of GPS data to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Investigate incidents of asset theft, loss, or misuse using GPS data and collaborate with law enforcement agencies to recover stolen assets.
Prepare and present reports on GPS tracking data, asset utilization, and fleet performance to management.
Stay updated on advancements in GPS technology and recommend upgrades or enhancements to existing systems.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies governing GPS tracking and fleet management operations.
Qualifications and Competencies
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.
Proven experience in GPS tracking, fleet management, or a similar role.
Strong technical skills and familiarity with GPS tracking systems and software.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using software tools such as Excel, Tableau, or GIS.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
Competencies
Attention to detail and accuracy in data interpretation and analysis.
Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
Ability to work independently and proactively identify areas for improvement.
