Job Description
Position: Fleet Technician

Location: Uganda
Role Purpose
The Fleet Technician is responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing company vehicles and equipment in alignment with OEM specifications and AB InBev standards. The role ensures optimal fleet performance, availability, and safety while managing maintenance costs and spare parts inventory in accordance with company policies and safety regulations.

How to Apply
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles/equipment as per service schedules and manufacturer guidelines.
Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults, including engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspensions, hydraulics, and air conditioning units.
Ensure compliance with local road traffic regulations and EAC standards.
Support safe and economical vehicle operation by coaching drivers and monitoring fleet condition.
Accurately complete vehicle inspection and service reports, identifying any defects not reported by drivers.
Implement Daily Performance Optimization (DPO) and VPO fleet maintenance practices.
Forecast, order, and inspect spare parts; manage parts inventory and ensure proper storage and security.
Perform road breakdown calls and be available to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
Adhere to 5S housekeeping standards in the fleet workshop and ensure proper use of PPE.
Operate and maintain workshop tools and equipment safely (e.g., torque wrenches, jacks, grinders).
Conduct root cause analysis of vehicle failures and apply logical, cost-effective repair solutions.
Support continuous improvement by identifying maintenance gaps and proposing corrective actions.

Key Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical and mechanical systems.
Proven ability in diagnostics, servicing, and overhauling engines and major truck components.
Skilled in using diagnostic tools and reading technical manuals and diagrams.
Proficient with workshop equipment and automotive tools.
Analytical thinking and problem-solving.
High attention to detail and self-motivation.
Safety-focused with a commitment to compliance and quality.
Qualifications & Experience
Full Technician Certificate (FTC) in Auto Mechanics or Auto-Electrics, or a Vocational Training qualification (e.g., VETA).
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Power, or Automation is an added advantage.
Valid driving license.
Minimum of 2–3 years of hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance and repair.
