Job Description
The Finance Business Partner – Support Functions works closely with Business and Function Heads to provide accurate cost reporting, strengthen cost ownership, and challenge cost allocations to ensure value for money. The role delivers financial insights that support strategic decision-making, cost efficiency, and achievement of financial targets.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Business Partnering
Manage and report operating and capital costs to support the achievement of financial targets.
Analyse functional costs, including actual performance against STP and RAF targets, and provide actionable insights.
Review and update cost allocation drivers at segment and branch levels to ensure accurate reflection of services provided.
Review and challenge Group recharges to ensure value-for-money outcomes.
Support the preparation of segmental reports in collaboration with Finance Business Partners.
Contribute analytical inputs to RAF, MTP, and STP processes, including cost drivers and performance metrics.
Prepare functional cost inputs for ALCO, Board, MBR, and CMC reporting.
Coordinate with Group Finance to deliver monthly analysis of Bank costs against STP targets at functional level.
Conduct monthly Revenue Assurance to identify and prevent income leakage across assigned business income channels.
Recommend initiatives to improve cost efficiency and overall financial performance.
Provide financial insights and commentary to business functions to support strategic and cost-saving decisions.
Stakeholder Management
Build and maintain effective working relationships across Finance, the wider Bank, Group functions, and external auditors.
Engage Senior Managers and teams to enhance understanding of cost performance and financial results.
Manage and respond to cost-related queries from internal and external stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner.
Risk Management, Control & Compliance
Identify, assess, and manage risks and incidents in line with the Group Risk and Control Framework.
Provide proactive and independent oversight of risk performance and control effectiveness.
Maintain procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with policies, standards, and controls.
Communicate required controls and practices to relevant stakeholders to ensure consistent application.
Team Leadership & Contribution
Provide honest, constructive, and timely feedback to team members.
Share knowledge, experience, and best practices with Finance colleagues.
Support training and capacity building across Finance and the wider Bank, particularly on accounting standards and practices.
Engage proactively with senior leadership to drive success and support colleagues.
Pursue continuous personal and professional development to enhance job effectiveness.
