Job Description
The Finance and Compliance Officer will oversee financial administration, budgeting, reporting, and regulatory compliance in line with company policies and national laws. Responsibilities include maintaining accounting systems, forecasting, preparing financial reports, coordinating audits, managing contracts, and ensuring financial integrity through compliance with tax and labor regulations. The Officer will work closely with the Head of Finance and other stakeholders to ensure financial efficiency, timely reporting, and adherence to internal and external standards.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Ensure adherence to eTranzact’s financial policies and accounting standards
Prepare budgets, forecasts, and amendments with relevant stakeholders
Maintain compliance with tax laws and labor regulations
Generate financial reports and advise on expenditure trends
Analyse accounts, resolve irregularities, and provide solutions
Verify and record financial obligations and payments
Review and submit quarterly financial statements
Monitor expenditures and manage financial requisitions
Coordinate a cash forecasting system to ensure liquidity
Interpret financial data and advise corrective actions post-audits
Support implementation of accounting systems
Oversee vendor contract negotiations and management
Manage financial documentation and safeguard payment instruments
Prepare and submit regulatory reports to Bank of Uganda and URA
Maintain inventory records of purchased items
Liaise with external auditors and respond to audit queries
Uphold security and confidentiality protocols
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Head of Finance, Country Manager, or Board
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Professional Certification: CPA or ACCA (minimum Part II/Intermediate Level)
Experience: Minimum 3 years in accounting or financial management
Technical Skills: Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office
Knowledge: Understanding of local tax regulations and financial standards
Competencies:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
High accuracy and attention to detail
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
