Latitude Trade Company (LTC) is a rapidly growing social enterprise in Uganda sourcing specialty cacao for export and producing bean to bar chocolate at origin. Working with over 5,000 certified organic smallholder farmers, our mission is to sustainably increase incomes and reduce risk for our suppliers while positively impacting the community and environment surrounding our operations. We aim to provide chocolate makers and consumers in East Africa and around the world with the highest quality, transparently sourced and fully traceable Ugandan cocoa products

  • Supervise and monitor procurement activities

  • Training of farmers and training of trainers on agronomy and organic practices

  • Management of buyer performance and fresh cocoa quality

  • Planning and managing collection days, including pricing, harvest estimates, transport and weight management

  • Manage certification activities for 4,000 farmers, including contracting, surveys, trainings, inspections, office documentation, and annual audit

  • Implementation of Latitude partner programs – agroforestry, financial literacy, digital payments, etc.

  • Contribute to strategy around establishment of new collection areas for buying fresh cocoa

  • Regularly visit LTC farmers, communities and collection areas

  • Proposing community development initiatives that will benefit both LTC and its farmers

  • Hosting of LTC customers, investors, donors and development partners as necessary

  • Several years of experience working in field operations, preferably within the agricultural, cocoa, or food production industry.

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role, demonstrating leadership and team management skills for the Field Managers

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with team members, stakeholders, and senior management.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address operational

  • Knowledge of Organic, Fair Trade, and UTZ certification programs

  • Previous experience overseeing field activities and training


  • Willingness to live and work in rural area for extended periods
